Bonjour from France! We made it safely to France after 12 hours in the car. The Passat kicked ass on the Autobahn. We arrived to fresh snow and got to ski powder on Sunday, our day off. We had an amazing morning of powder skiing filled with face shots and moments of over-the-head snow. The resort got 1 meter of fresh snow at the top but the lifts didn’t open up top. I had my 155cm slalom skis on and had a really hard time keeping my tips up. I got buried several times. The worse was when I buried my tips and hyperextended my left knee. It was bad crash and one of the athletes had to come to my rescue. Now I m limping around using a crutch and trying to nurse a severely strained (partially torn) calf muscle (medial gastroc to those who care/know the difference) and a very sore knee. I don’t think it is too bad but it is really painful right now.

The athletes are doing well. We had GS race today and we have another one tomorrow. We are staying in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere but we have access to internet which helps. There is no phone nearby however so I had to borrow my friend’s just to tell Ben about my crash. The highest town in Europe is just up the road from us. I am not sure what the elevation is here but it is pretty high. We are here until Sunday and then we make the long drive back to Munich, Germany (about 8 hours for our flight back to the States on Monday).

A photo of Allison Jones from the GS today. She ended up 6th.
